Loose sheets are gathered in order, milled and hot glued on the spine, and an automatically hinge scored cover is then added by nipping. The book is then trimmed on 3 sides to the finished size which completes the job. Guidelines:
• Cover must be larger than book block and must wrap over spine (Example: a book block containing 100 sheets of 8.5 x 11 text needs a cover printed on a 12″ x 18″ stock with the image centered)
• Cover must be taller than book block from head to foot to allow for glue trap
• Please allow a minimum of 1/8″ all around image area for finishing trim. Failure to do so will result in a slightly undersized finished product
• Please refrain from varnish or printing on inside cover spine area (.25″ from spine)
• Consult NABS before trimming book blocks
• Provide covers as un-cut press sheets
